Prep Cook & Bartender / Part Time

Thursdays, Fridays & Saturdays (as needed)

Hours: 5:30PM - 10PM

We are looking for individuals who want to join our very small team in an open kitchen setting, enjoys live music and interacting with the public. Working at PAUSA is a fun and easy way to supplement your income while working in a clean, healthy and inspiring environment filled with music and creative people. ​ You’ll be able to contribute in preparing food and beverages that reflect our Mediterranean /Spanish focus on panini sandwiches, tapas and small plates while hearing some great music from local, national and international artists in a intimate setting.

This is a - do it all job position - given the size and duration of each shift so expect cross over duties and responsibilities no matter what station you are working at.

The ideal candidate will be quick and diligent and willing to improve on the job.

Will be able to follow instructions as well as all health and safety rules in the kitchen and bar. Will be able to function in a fast-paced environment, have great communication skills and be an exceptional team member always willing to assist on any tasks when needed. 

COMPENSATION

Hourly salary based on experience starting at $13 an hour (while training) + tips

$15 an hour + tips when fully ready to perform without supervision

One free meal per shift / One - end of shift- free drink / 20% discount on all items afterwards

RESPONSIBILITIES

Comply with all food and beverage regulation

Chek-In guests when needed

Interact with customers, take orders and serve

Prep and stock kitchen/bar stations before each shift 

Follow the prep list and recipes 

Measure ingredients and seasonings to be used in cooking

Prepare cooking ingredients by washing and chopping vegetables

Undertake basic cooking duties such as assembling tapas and paninis

Maintain a clean and orderly kitchen by washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces

Ensure all food and other items are stored properly

Monitor and re-stock  food & beverage fridges before closing for the night

and notify manager when there are shortages

End of shift sanitation of customer tables, clean around chairs and tables, remove trash, mop spills if necessary

REQUIRENMENTS:

Prior experience as prep cook is preferred

Experience in using basic cutting tools and cookware

Basic knowledge of mixing cocktails, wines and beers preferred but we'll train the right individual (following recipes)

Ability to follow all sanitation procedures

Ability to work in a team

Very good communication skills  

Knowledge or Quick learning ability to use our basic POS ( Square)

High school diploma or equivalent; Diploma from a culinary school will be an advantage
